The Fourth Element Arctic X Socks are thermal diving socks built for cold-water drysuit diving. A dual-layer recycled construction with a fleece inner layer and DWR-coated outer layer delivers warmth without bulk. The inner liner separates to speed drying between dives, making it a practical addition to any cold-water diving setup.

Merkmale und Passform

Made with recycled materials: Outer shell, inner shell, and lining all use recycled fibres. Main fabric carries Oeko-Tex 100 and Bluesign certification; lining holds GRS, Oeko-Tex 100, and Bluesign certification. Plastic-free packaging.
Dual-layer construction: Separate inner and outer layers work together for warmth and moisture management. The inner liner can be separated from the outer layer to speed up drying between dives.
Fleece inner layer: Soft fleece retains heat directly against the foot throughout the dive.
DWR-coated outer layer: Durable Water Repellent coating causes water to bead off the surface, keeping the socks dry between dives and during surface intervals.
4-way stretch fabric: Moves with the foot in all directions for a snug fit without restricting movement or circulation.
High performance low bulk: Provides thermal protection without adding volume inside a drysuit boot.
Reflective prints: Subtle reflective detailing for visibility in low-light conditions.
Machine washable: Can be washed at home without specialist care.

The Fourth Element Arctic X Socks complete the Arctic X thermal layering system for cold-water drysuit diving. Built from recycled materials with a dual-layer construction, they deliver warmth at the feet without adding bulk inside a drysuit boot. The design keeps your feet warm, dry, and comfortable throughout the dive and between dives.

The inner layer is a soft fleece that retains heat directly against the foot. The outer layer carries a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating, which causes water to bead and roll off the fabric surface rather than soaking in. This keeps the socks performing between dives and during surface intervals. The two layers can be separated after diving to speed up drying time, which is particularly useful on multi-day dive trips or liveaboards where gear needs to be ready again quickly.

The 4-way stretch fabric moves with the foot in all directions, giving a snug fit without restricting movement or circulation. Low-bulk construction means the socks sit comfortably inside a drysuit boot without creating pressure points or reducing blood flow to the feet.

Subtle reflective prints add visibility in low-light conditions on the dive boat or shore.

Fourth Element is a UK-based brand producing technical dive clothing used by divers worldwide. The Arctic X Socks are part of the Arctic X range, an extreme-conditions undergarment system designed for layering in all conditions. They are designed to be worn as part of the Arctic X system, alongside the Arctic X One Piece or the Arctic X Jacket and Leggings combination, providing dedicated foot warmth that a one-piece or leggings alone cannot provide inside a drysuit boot.

All materials are recycled. The main fabric carries Oeko-Tex 100 and Bluesign certification. The lining carries GRS (Global Recycled Standard), Oeko-Tex 100, and Bluesign certification. Packaging is plastic-free. The socks are machine washable.

The Arctic X Socks weigh 0.10kg and are available in sizes XS to XXL in black.

For divers asking whether dedicated thermal socks are necessary with a drysuit: drysuit boots vary in their insulation, and in cold water the feet are one of the first areas to lose warmth. A dedicated thermal sock worn inside the drysuit boot adds a targeted layer of insulation at the foot without adding significant bulk. The Arctic X Socks are built specifically for this purpose.

Materials with purpose

Ocena Natural Rubber

OCENA® is a natural rubber developed by SHEICO Group for use in and around water. It replaces petroleum-based neoprene in wetsuits and other marine gear, cutting the carbon footprint by up to 95%. OCENA® carries USDA certification with 82% bio-based content, and SHEICO holds FSC Chain-of-Custody certification, so the rubber is traced through a responsibly managed supply chain.

ECONYL®

ECONYL® is 100% regenerated nylon, a significant percentage of which comes from fishing nets recovered from the sea..

UPF 50+

Rashguards The UPF 50+ fabric is a blend of recycled nylon and xtra life™ LYCRA®, which gives generous stretch and also offers extended protection against chlorine and salt.

Ein besseres Neopren

Kalkstein-Neopren | Recycelter Gummi | Spinngefärbtes Garn (exklusive Produkte)
